The Real Father Brown

I cannot bring myself to watch the BBC version of G. K. Chesterton's famous priest-detective Father Brown, now airing on PBS.  I'm told it's an insult to Chesterton, to Father Brown and to the Catholic Church.

Several years ago The Theater of the Word Incorporated teamed up with The American Chesterton Society and EWTN to produce a made-for-TV movie version of a Father Brown mystery, starring yours truly as Father Brown and Frank C. Turner as Israel Gow.

Dale Ahlquist and I wrote the dialogue for an adaptation of Chesterton's original story, which EWTN's Steve Beaumont and Michael Masny turned into a screenplay.  The result is quite good, and faithful to the original.
